An Early Spring (?), Black Owned Brands To Try, and a Few Amazon Goodies
Is it just me or does it feel like spring is coming early this year? I guess when it snows in April, I’ll be eating my words but these days of 40/50/even 60 in February seem a little unnerving, even if I enjoy it. Do these early (see: deceptive) spring days change your shopping habits? They definitely alter mine—I’m like, oh perfect, time for sleeveless tanks and linen. While I know it’s not quite reality, be sure to follow my instagram as I share over the next month how I gradually transition to spring (in a place that’s freezing, no less).
We’re currently in the Fool’s Spring, if you were wondering.
In honor of Black History Month, I wanted to share some Black-owned businesses to support—hopefully some of these are new to you!
Grace Eleyae
Headbands, beanies, caps and more. But they’re not just cute — They’re lined with satin to help you avoid hat hair!
Briogeo
I love that they have products that work for all hair concerns like improving your scalp health, enhancing curls or thickening your hair.
Femly
This company has a goal of ending period poverty and their tampons and pads are 100% cotton and free of harmful chemicals.
Melanie Marie
This jewelry brand has minimalist, classic pieces like solid gold chains but also custom name pieces (great Mother’s Day gift)!
Kido
This children’s boutique has on-trend apparel, toys, books and more for babies to big kids. There’s even a few Chicago-themed items!
Estelle
These mix-match, colored wine glasses have been trending for a while and I don’t see them going anywhere. They’re perfect for hosting, especially Mahjong game night ;)
Amazon Finds
Bought this OGEE bronzing/contour stick in Obsidian last week and LOVE it (on sale)
The Sezane Betty cardigan dupe is back (so many people messaged me how amazing it was compared to the real Betty).
My new lucky tennis socks? I only wear striped socks now, BTW.
Trust me, I don’t over-index on Amazon sweaters, so if i say they’re good, they are (I own it!). This oversized ribbed one IS a good one.
I’m also so pleased with these silver slingbacks. They do take over a week to arrive but they’re worth the wait. They feel like they’re $150-$200 shoes rather than $39.
