If you’ve followed me on Instagram at all the past few years, you might know my penchant of Audible and audiobooks. I’m obsessed; I’d like to thank Audible for getting me back into reading in a big way and I’d say on average I listen to 2-3 audiobooks a month. It’s a real form of self-care and I even like listening to them before I fall asleep. And if you're new here–hi! I love audiobooks. Like, really love them. And I’m proud to be kicking off a partnership with Audible, whom I’ve worked with for years, and because it’s October, I thought I would share some of my all-time favorite audiobooks with a thriller/spooky undertone. But for next month, I’m going to need your help, so do me a favor and comment what I should listen to next.
AND as an aside: if you have kids or maybe just want to reminisce, please listen to the Are You Afraid of the Dark podcast that’s exclusive to Audible–my kids and carpools are obsessed with it. (PS Try out Audible for 99 cents for the next three months!)
Thrillers you must download on Audible
The Five Year Lie - I JUST finished this one and it’s a slow burn but worth it. It has some soap opera type drama (is he dead or isn’t he?!) which I LOVE and the flashbacks are super easy to follow. A really enjoyable listen that will keep you guessing until the end.
Listen For the Lie - Look, a thriller that has the word lie in it is going to catch my eye, ok? Imagine not knowing if you murdered your best friend and then trying to carry on with your life. These plots are wild and it’s a great audiobook because there’s a podcast component - LOVED.
None of This is True - The format alone is SO GOOD–it’s like a docuseries. In fact, I’d love to see it as a show. You never know where this book will take you and it got me hooked on British author Lisa Jewell.
The Housemaid - This came as a recommendation from a friend when it was cold, dreary, and I needed a pick me up. It’s so twisted and kept me on the edge of my seat.
Blood Sugar - THis was a book club choice from a couple years ago but we LOVED recapping it in person. It’s twisty and dark in a fun way.
*Thanks to Audible for being a long term partner of mine!
